You can delete your PostMarshal account and the data we hold about you at any time. This page explains what gets deleted, how to do it, and how to reach us if you need help.
The short version. You can delete your data yourself from Account & Billing, or ask us to. Deleting your account is permanent and immediate — it erases everything, including the encrypted access we hold to your connected social accounts. (Deleting a single organisation instead keeps your login and is recoverable for 30 days.) We never store your social-media passwords, and deleting your PostMarshal account does not delete anything already published to your own social accounts (only you can do that, on those platforms).
What data we hold
So you know exactly what deletion covers, PostMarshal holds:
Your account details (name, email, and login information).
Your content — drafts, scheduled and published posts, captions, and any photos or videos you upload or send us.
Encrypted access tokens for the social accounts you connect, so we can post on your behalf when you approve it. These are stored encrypted. We never store your social-media passwords.
Basic settings and history for your brands and organisation.
If you'd like a copy of your data first, use Download my account data (JSON) and/or Download organisation data (ZIP) — both are offered on the same screen, before you delete. Access tokens are always redacted.
Then choose the option you want:
Delete my account — permanently erases your account and every organisation you own. This is immediate and cannot be undone — there is no recovery period.
Delete organisation — deletes a single organisation but keeps your login. Publishing stops immediately and the organisation is recoverable for 30 days, after which it and its data are permanently deleted.
Confirm. Either way, the encrypted access we hold to the affected connected social accounts is destroyed as part of deletion.
Deleting your account is permanent and takes effect straight away. Deleting a single organisation is restorable within 30 days by signing back in; after that it cannot be undone.
Option 2 — ask us to delete it for you
If you can't sign in, or you'd prefer we handle it, email us and we'll delete your data for you:
To protect your account we may need to confirm your identity before we act. We'll acknowledge your request and complete the deletion, and confirm when it's done — normally within 30 days, in line with UK data-protection law.
Data from your connected social accounts
When you delete your PostMarshal account, the encrypted access we hold to your Facebook, Instagram, and other connected accounts is destroyed, and PostMarshal can no longer access them.
You can also disconnect at any time without deleting your whole account:
In PostMarshal: go to the connected account and choose Disconnect — this removes our stored access to it.
On the platform itself: you can also remove PostMarshal's access from the app's own settings — for example, on Facebook via Settings & Privacy → Settings → Business Integrations, and on Instagram via Settings → Apps and Websites.
Important: deleting your PostMarshal account, or disconnecting a social account, does not remove posts that were already published to your social accounts. Those live on the platform under your control — to remove them, delete them from the social account directly.
